Christmas-Packing Up-Goodbye Bo

Mouse Hunt

Before Christmas we had a mouse hunt in our apartment.  Here we are checking behind the refrigerator.  The mice collect stuff from the trash to make a nest in the appliances.  This is the stuff we pulled out from around the refrigerator motor, pieces of paper that had been shredded by the mouse. We pulled out the 15 grocery bags from under the washing machine earlier.  It had caused the water pump in the washer to quit working.  This mouse was very creative.  During the middle of the night a while back, he pushed a bag of medicines off our medical table which woke us up.  We got up just in time to see the bag disappearing into the laundry room.  The medicines in the bag were dumped on the floor.  If you have seen the movie "Mouse Hunt", we believe that mouse was now in Sierra Leone.

Christmas

Christmas is a low key holiday in Sierra Leone.  70% of the population is Muslim.  New years is a much bigger deal for them.  However we did see a full size Christmas tree in one of the elders apartments.  It had been made out of paper by his family at home. It brought the Christmas spirit.
We also had Santa's elves caroling at one of the zone activities.

Here you can see our Christmas tree.

After Christmas it only took 2 minutes to un-decorate the tree and turn it back into a flower arrangement.

Goodbye Bo

This is the hardest part of a mission.  We had many people come over on Thursday to say goodbye.  We got a few pictures.  There are so many people who have touched our lives for good.  Here are a few of them.  There are so many wonderful memories.  Our hearts are breaking as we say goodbye.

Good bye Salone, we will miss you greatly!!
